A local festival that celebrates Kings Mountain's rich heritage is returning this weekend with live music, entertainment and activities.

Last year, Mountaineer Days Heritage Festival returned after a nearly decade-long hiatus.

This year, the festival is scheduled for Oct. 10 and 11 at Patriots Park with a kickoff concert at 6 p.m. on Oct. 10 featuring CBMA award winner, Rivermist.

“This is a unique festival that celebrates Kings Mountain’s heritage while bringing our community together,’’ said Angela Padgett, Tourism and Events coordinator for the city of Kings Mountain. “Come out and spend the day in our town, enjoying live music and family-friendly activities for all to enjoy.”
