Drug paraphernalia, a bullet and broken windows were just some of the reminders that a southwest Atlanta home was used as a hideout for Orleans Parish jail escapee Derrick Groves before his arrest this week.
The homeowner, Richard McQueen, let WVUE-TV reporter Gabby Killett tour the Honeysuckle Lane residence. McQueen uses the house as a rental property.
A Thursday Fox 8 news segment captured how ransacked the basement was in the aftermath of 28-year-old Groves' arrest. Along with cannabis paraphernalia and a bullet, the basement was littered with wigs, clothing, buckets, and tinctures labeled with flavors.
McQueen also showed Killett the crawlspace where police dogs eventually found Groves. The homeowner added his tenant was a young woman and he wasn't sure when she began staying
