LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo - An Odessa man is behind bars after leading Lafayette County Deputies on a chase Wednesday night.
According to a probable cause statement, a deputy attempted to pull over 44-year-old Joseph Mazy-Franks for expired license plates. Mazy-Franks sped away on a gravel road leading to a high-speed chase. The pursuit reached speeds of over 100 miles-per-hour as it moved onto Highway 131. Mazy-Franks' vehicle eventually skidded out of control on 131 and damaged the front of a property along the highway.
The deputy arrested Mazy-Franks after he crashed. Both Mazy-Franks and his female passenger were uninjured in the accident. The passenger had attempted to get Mazy-Franks to not run from the deputy. A baggie belonging to Mazy-Franks was found in the vehicle, which cont
