COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person has died following a shooting in west Columbus Friday afternoon, according to a public safety dispatcher for the city.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Stephen Drive, located in the Hilltop, around 1:25 p.m.

The dispatcher said one person was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and died at 2 p.m.

A suspect was taken into custody. It's unclear what led up to the shooting.
