Louisiana voters will head to the polls on Saturday to weigh in on several issues & candidates.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

While the ballots are not packed, Caddo Parish residents can expect three propositions to vote on, and Bossier Parish residents will vote in a new police juror for District 1.

Caddo Parish is voting on two millage continuations and a service charge renewal — all three for Fire District No. 8.

Proposition No. 1 authorizes the continuation of a 2% sales tax, which is expected to generate $376,000 annually. This money is dedicated to making improvements and maintaining public roads, highways, bridges and drainage systems in the district. The millage would renew at the beginning of next year if passed and last for 10 years.
