WATERBURY — Gov. Phil Scott touted the strength of Vermont's manufacturing sector earlier this week, but said improving the state's housing stock is necessary to both keep and improve those types of jobs.
"When we look back over the last few decades we've seen more than our share of businesses, but especially manufacturers, leave Vermont. Some due to globalization and offshoring to places like China, Mexico and Vietnam, while others left Vermont due to the ever-increasing cost of doing business here," Scott said.
