A Flood Watch is in effect for much of the West Valley beginning Friday at noon, as the National Weather Service warns of heavy rain and possible flooding through Saturday evening.

The watch includes Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Tolleson, and surrounding communities.

In Goodyear, the forecast calls for a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, with highs near 95°F and gusty winds up to 20 mph. Rain is expected to intensify overnight, with a 90% chance of precipitation and up to half an inch of new rainfall possible.

Saturday brings continued rain chances: 60% during the day and evening, with isolated thunderstorms possible. Highs will reach the low 90s, dropping to the mid-70s overnight. Showers may linger into Sunday, with rain chances between 30–40%.
