Oakley residents rounded up at City Hall for a spirited candidate forum, where those running for mayoral and city council seats shared their vision for the town’s future.
The event on Tuesday offered community members the chance to hear directly from the people hoping to win their vote about pressing issues.
Oakley Rodeo Committee board member Sam Aplanalp and former Oakley Mayor Doug Evans organized the event, joking that they formed the nonpartisan — and unofficial — “Oakley Election Committee” as a way to promote civic engagement, community involvement and respectful dialogue ahead of the election.
