WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A teenager was shot on Friday afternoon near the National Air and Space Museum in D.C.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a shooting in the 200 block of 6th St. SW. There, they found a teenage boy who was shot.

He was still conscious and breathing.

Officials said some teenagers were walking northbound on 6th Street. They passed by a bridge, and one pulled out a gun and shot the other.

The shooter ran south, and the victim ran north into a building along 6th and C streets, where first responders reached him.

No other injuries were reported.
