MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Connecticut is taking a victory lap on the Pizza Trail.

State and local officials celebrated National Pizza Month on Friday with a tour of the four Middletown pizzerias featured on the trial -- Mondo, Sicily Coal Fired Pizza, Krust and Vera Cucina.

"The CT Pizza Trail, what's nice about it is beyond being a vote and getting some recognition, which is always very nice," said Mondo owner Keith Vibert. "It's nice because it's a program that's being run by the state and the Connecticut Restaurant Association, so it's nice to have the support of the state."
