Delaware's defense held the Comets to 0 first downs in the first quarter while scoring on every possession. On the first drive, Schneiders connected with Tate Mormann for a 19-yard TD pass. On the 2nd drive of the game, Schneiders found Dylan Popp streaking into the end zone for a 35-yard TD. On the Hawks 3rd possession of the game, they turned to the ground game as Popp ran it in for a 19-yard TD score to make it 21-0.
