POLK COUNTY, Georgia — The farm where a six-year-old was found unresponsive in a nearby pool has announced that all activities are postponed following the tragic event that unfolded.

Students from McGarity Elementary took a field trip to Carlton Farms on Wednesday, Oct. 8. According to Polk County officials, a staff member on the trip noticed the child missing at around noon, before the child was found unresponsive in a pool beside the house.

The child was taken to the hospital, where the Polk County coroner said they were pronounced dead.
