PONTIAC, MI — A Pontiac man has died five days after a truck struck him while he was crossing the street.

Larry Gene Howard, 82, died at the hospital Friday, Oct. 10, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, Howard was crossing Walton Boulevard near Baldwin Avenue in a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado.

The truck, which was being driven by a 68-year-old Pontiac man, was traveling southbound on Baldwin Avenue and making a right turn onto westbound Walton Boulevard at the time of the crash.

“It was the sixth time this year that a pedestrian has been involved in a fatal crash in Pontiac,” police officials said in a release.
