WASHINGTON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A plane crash occurred in Washington County Friday night, officials say.

At around 9:25 p.m., Washington County officials responded to a call reporting a possible plane crash.

One of the people onboard the plane contacted dispatch and stated that their aircraft had gone down in a wooded area near Highway 68 and Highway 540, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies, firefighters, and EMS personnel immediately responded to the area.
