BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Wooden Shoes are state champions following a dominant performance at the Class 1A boys' golf finals in Bloomington.
Teutopolis led the field after the first round of action, a four-stroke lead over Harvest Christian Academy out of Elgin. After shooting +25 in the first round, Teutopolis shot +22 in the second to finish the weekend +47, winning by eleven strokes over Fulton at Bloomington's Prairie Vista Golf Course.
Senior Coen Pennington finished tied for second in the individual field with a +2 performance, shooting an even 72 in the second round. Prairie Central's Easton Friedman finished T6 at +5.
