SARTELL — Bemidji High School girls tennis players Megan Berg and Liz Peterson came up just short in pushing for a doubles state berth on Saturday at the Section 8-3A Individual Tournament at Sat-Fit in Sartell.

Berg and Peterson lost their semifinal match against Alexandria’s Kennedy and Addison Stevenson 6-0, 6-1.

In the third-place match, with a chance to compete for true second, which would’ve been a state berth, the duo fell to Monticello’s Samantha Voll and Julia DeChene 6-4, 6-1.
