A dog reported missing after a plane crash near the McGregor Airport in Aitkin County last week has been found safe.

The Aikin County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 after the plane, a Piper PA-28 140, seemingly lost power shortly after takeoff.

The plane went down in a swampy area about a half-mile short of the runway as the pilot attempted to return to the airport.

All three occupants – two men aged 23 and 22 and a woman aged 23 – were injured and one passenger was airlifted to the hospital, but all are reported to be in stable condition as of Monday.
