The National Weather Service released a coastal flood warning at 4:06 a.m. on Sunday valid from 2 p.m. until Monday 8 p.m. for the Bronx and Queens as well as Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties.

The weather service comments, "1 1/2 to 2 1/2 feet of inundation above ground level is expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline for the Sunday afternoon, Sunday Night and Monday afternoon high tide cycles."

The weather service adds, "Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth."
