NEW YORK (PIX11) --- Look for a nor'easter to make its way into the tri-state area today.
A few on-and-off showers this morning, along with breezy conditions. The real rain and wind will then enter the area in the afternoon. Showers will evolve to a steady rain, and sustained winds will increase to 15 to 30 mph.
The heaviest rain and strongest winds are expected later this evening into tomorrow morning. About 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected throughout most of the area.
Some locations south and east of the city could receive 3 inches or more. Winds gusts between 30 and 45 mph are possible in most locations, while coastal areas could see gusts of 50 mph or more. That could lead to flooding along the Jersey shore and Long Island.
Expect the rain and wind to stay in place through Monday
