Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center’s mobile mammography unit, known as The BIG Pink Bus, will be in Gilbert on Wednesday, Oct. 15, offering breast cancer screenings at the Bashas’ store located at 99 S. Higley Road, Gilbert.

The visit is part of a statewide initiative during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to expand access to screenings.

The BIG Pink Bus has been selected as one of Bashas’ Family of Stores’ October Charities of the Month and will benefit from the retailer’s pink-labeled bottled water campaign. A portion of proceeds from bottled water sales at Bashas’ and Food City stores will support the mobile unit’s operations.

The mobile unit aims to reduce barriers to care by bringing mammography services directly into communities.
