A white British schoolboy will appear in court after the bomb squad were called out to inspect ‘suspicious items’ found at his house.
Police raided the home in Monkseaton, North Tyneside after receiving a report of suspicious activity at 1.15pm on Friday.
Suspicious items were discovered during their enquiries, which resulted in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team attending the scene that same day.
Forensic officers were seen carrying out further investigations at the property.
A police spokesman said ‘there is no risk to the wider public’. The schoolboy, of secondary school age, is due to appear before Bedlington Magistrates Court on Monday.
