MIAMI, AZ (AZFamily) — Flooding has closed U.S. 60 in Gila County after thunderstorms passed through the region, and is expected to continue on Sunday.
According to ADOT, U.S. 60 is been closed in both directions about two miles west of Miami, where Arizona’s Family crews have been told about severe flooding in the downtown area.
Just before 10:30 a.m., the National Weather Service issued a warning for Gila County after heavy rain and reported flooding. Impacted areas include Globe, Miami, Claypool, San Carlos, Top Of The World and Inspiration.
Drivers should expect delays and seek an alternate route as there is no estimated time to reopen the highway.
Arizona’s Family crews are on the way to Gila County to get more information on the ongoing weather situation.
