A 23-year-old Gatineau man is awaiting a court appearance on charges of assault and sexual assault involving an alleged attack on a four-year-old girl in a city park in Gatineau on Saturday. Article content

A man contacted a constable on patrol at about 4 p.m. Saturday saying his daughter had been assaulted by a man in Pierre-Lafontaine Park, said Lieut. Jean-François Beauchamp. Article content Article content

“The officer saw the dispute (and) went to the father to see what was going on.”

While the father and a police officer were talking, the father saw the suspect. The officer chased the suspect and arrested him.
