BRAINERD — The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a report of a tree on fire along the Mississippi River near the lower lot of Brainerd High School.

The fire was reported at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8. Firefighters responded with the DNR.

On Thursday, a report of a smoke smell was reported at 7:13 a.m. in the Veterans Administration clinic off Jackson Street in Brainerd. It was determined to be smoke odor from a nearby prescribed burn.

At 7:16 a.m. Thursday, firefighters responded to a report of an alarm at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge. The alarm was due to burned food.
