DENNEHOTSO, Ariz. — A roadway on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona is closed after it sustained significant damage during heavy rainfall.
The Navajo Nation Division of Transportation posted on Facebook that N6461/N6460 on the west side of the Loop Road in Dennehosto is closed because of a washout and significant road damage.
According to the post, the road was undercut and could collapse. People are encouraged not to drive or even walk on this road.
"Crews are assessing the damage," the post said. "Updates will be provided as they become available."
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area.
The damage comes after days of heavy rainfall throughout State 48, causing flooding and damage in many areas.
