EASTERN CAROLINA, N.C. (WITN) - Flooding across Eastern Carolina counties from the persistent nor’easter and heavy rainfall has led to some school closures and delays.

Pamlico County Schools has canceled school for students on Monday due to standing water and ongoing flood conditions across the county.

School officials say it will be an optional workday for staff.

Additionally, Pamlico Community College announced that its facilities will be closed as well because of the weather.

Beaufort County Schools says due to hazardous road conditions, they will be operating on a two-hour delay on Monday.
