OREGON, USA — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a special weather statement Sunday evening warning people in West Linn, Gladstone and Oregon City to seek shelter due to a possible landspout. The warning was issued at 5:55 p.m. and was in effect until 6:30 p.m., according to the NWS
Earlier Sunday, around 5:20 p.m., the NWS issued a special weather statement in effect that was in effect until 5:45 p.m. warning people in Tigard, Lake Oswego and Oregon City to seek shelter due to a possible landspout.
A landspout is a type of tornado that forms from the ground up, typically weaker than traditional tornadoes but still capable of causing damage.
The warnings comes the same day a possible tornado damaged multiple buildings in Longview, Washington , including causing a roof collapse
