NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A young man is facing charges in connection with a Sunday morning shooting in Madison that led to the death of a pregnant teenager.

According to Metro Nashville dispatch, a shooting was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12 in the 700 block of Bixler Avenue.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said 20-year-old Amare Ramey was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, 17-year-old Amya Finney, when she was shot along Bixler Avenue. Finney later died at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

Authorities said Ramey surrendered himself at the North Precinct Sunday afternoon. During an interview, Ramey reportedly told detectives that Finney was two months pregnant with his child.
