NSW Health has ordered patients of now-suspended dental practitioner Safuan Hasic to get tested for a number of deadly diseases after officials found his clinic in south-west Sydney had violated basic infection control standards.
Health officials have told patients who were treated by dentist Stafuan Hasic, also known as Steven Hasic, to seek immediate testing for hepatitis B and C and HIV after a recent audit uncovered evidence of poor cleaning and inadequate sterilization of dental equipment.
The state’s chief health officer Kerry Chant has issued a public health warning about infection control breaches, and said that dental work performed at Mr Hasic's clinic at 70 Victoria Avenue Mortdale posed a low risk of exposure to blood borne diseases
