N Chandrasekaran has received approval from Tata Trusts for a third executive term as chairman of Tata Sons , marking an unprecedented departure from the group's retirement policy. His second term concludes in February 2027 when he reaches 65 years of age. Chandrasekaran, who previously worked at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), received his second five-year term in February 2022. His association with Tata Sons' board began in October 2016, followed by his appointment as chairman in January 2017.
