Police have revealed they seized alcohol, moved off scores of teens and told others to remove face coverings during a major event in Warwickshire . The Stratford Mop made a return to the town centre at the weekend and police were given extra powers to ensure that it passed safely.

A temporary Section 60 meant that officers could stop search anyone we believe might be carrying any offensive weapon. Officers can also order anyone who is wearing a face covering to remove them.

Also, under a Section 35 order, officers had the power to tell anyone they suspected to be involved in anti-social behaviour to leave the area or be arrested.
