A driver needed advanced trauma care after a collision on the outskirts of Nuneaton . West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed to CoventryLive that the man, who has not been identified, was seriously injured following the incident on Lutterworth Road earlier this morning (October 13).

He driving a car that had been in collision with a van on the stretch of road, heading towards Bramcote. Firefighters had to cut him out of the car.

Then medics gave him advanced trauma care at the scene. He was then taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment for serious injuries.

Warwickshire Police , which put road closures in place around the accident scene, is appealing to anyone who was in the area at around 9.30am to come forward.
