A Statesville woman was convicted of trafficking methamphetamine by a Catawba County jury in less than an hour on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Tiffany Michelle Ramos, 39, was sentenced to serve six to eight years in prison for the conviction of two counts of trafficking methamphetamine by possession and transportation and possession with intent to sell or distribute a controlled substance, District Attorney Scott Reilly’s Office said in a news release.
Superior Court Judge Nathaniel J. Poovey also ordered mandatory fines of $50,000 for each charge, the district attorney’s office said.
The trial started on Monday with jury selection, followed by presentation of evidence for the State and defense. Closing arguments took place on Wednesday before the case went to the jury for deliberation, the distr
