SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A semi-truck careened off the roadway, flipped over and caught fire, killing three including a child.

The deadly crash happened on I-70 near Dillon just before sunrise Sunday. According to State Patrol, a Freightliner Cascadia semi with a trailer was traveling westbound on a downhill when the driver missed a curve. The driver was able to veer back onto the road but hit the center concrete barrier, causing the semi to roll and spill its load across the roadway.

“The Freightliner became fully engulfed while rolling,” State Patrol said.

A 37-year-old woman, a 39-year-old man, and a 9-year-old girl were killed. None of been identified, but State Patrol says the woman was the driver, and she and the man were both from Deming, New Mexico. The girl was from Jackso
