A balaclava-clad gang who were 'behaving suspiciously' near some stables fled in a Vauxhall Astra after being 'spooked'.

A group of four white men - wearing all black - were spotted in Bridgnorth Road, Stourton, at around 1.30am on Tuesday, October 7.

They were seen climbing a gate and using torches, potentially with the intention to target nearby horses.

However the suspects were 'spooked' and left the scene in a 54 reg Vauxhall Astra with black wheels.

A South Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information after receiving a report of suspicious behaviour near a stables last week.

"We were called at 1.30am on Tuesday, October 7, to a stables on Bridgnorth Road in Stourton.
