Indiana's new blackout license plates are proving to be a revenue boost for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The Indiana BMV has reported selling more than 40,000 of these license plates.

Part of the fee from each plate sold goes back to the BMV.

More than $1.3 million has been generated so far.

The BMV said the money will be used to reinvest in better services for Hoosiers.
