ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) -- An Altoona man is behind bars after police said he robbed a Sheetz of cigarettes with a BB gun in his waistband.

Daniel Adams Sr., 63, was charged with robbery, retail theft, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon and related charges after Altoona police were called to Sheetz on 6th Avenue around 3:43 a.m. Oct. 12.

Police alleged that Adams walked into the Sheetz at 5706 6th Avenue and went behind the registers. According to police, he then pulled multiple cartons of Newports off the shelf before telling an employee that he had a gun and to keep their distance.

As police investigated, Adams was allegedly identified as the suspect and was found in a parked vehicle at his home within 30 minutes of the 911 call.
