A teenager was arrested after police allege she crashed a stolen vehicle into a residential fence in Waterbury on Sunday.

Officers who were patrolling the city spotted the collision in the area of 78 Wall St. where a 2010 Mercedes E350 was seen crashing into a small fence, according to Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department .

Morais said investigators found that the vehicle was stolen and was being driven by 18-year-old Jaylanie Ortiz of New Britain. She was treated for a suspected minor injury at an area hospital and was later charged with theft of a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility, third-degree criminal mischief, traveling too fast for conditions and failure to obey a stop sign, according to Morais.
