(FOX 5/KUSI) — The Carlsbad City Council approved this October the final design for public art coming to Veterans Memorial Park.

"The Ring," as it will be known, is a circular design meant to symbolize "the enduring nature of duty, unity and remembrance," according to the city.

The piece is almost twice as tall as a person and allows people to walk through it.
