NORFOLK, Va. — Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) is making it easier for riders to connect between the Tide light rail and Amtrak trains as part of its fall schedule changes starting Sunday, Oct. 12.
To better align with train schedules, HRT will add two new evening light rail trips on Sundays, running westbound from Harbor Park Station. The extra service is designed to accommodate passengers arriving on Amtrak’s 8:35 p.m. train, offering connections toward downtown Norfolk.
In addition, beginning Monday, Oct. 13, one new morning trip will be added in both directions — eastbound and westbound — Monday through Saturday. Those trips are timed to connect with Amtrak’s 6:14 a.m. Northeast Regional departure to Richmond and Washington, D.C.
