LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - An Illinois man will spend up to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a pre-teen in Michigan.
Javier Mora of Des Plaines, Ill., was sentenced last week to 12-to-25 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old from Cadillac in 2023, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Monday.
Mora, 22, began communicating with the victim on an online gaming platform in April 2023, according to the AG’s office. The AG’s office says Mora then drove from Illinois to Cadillac, where he sexually assaulted the minor.
Officials did not specify on which game Mora met the minor.
