GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Gibson County.
The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says deputies stopped a driver on Highway 41 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
GCSO says the driver, Frederick Bowers, was under the influence.
Authorities say they were speaking with the passenger, Jediah West, and found a stolen handgun on her.
During a search of the vehicle, authorities say they found another gun.
According to the sheriff's office, Bowers is a serious violent felon.
Both Bowers and West were arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail. Bowers faces DUI and firearm possession charges, while West was charged with theft of a firearm.
