A man is in hospital after being hit by a car on a Glasgow street in an alleged deliberate incident, police have said.

The man was reportedly hit by a car on Dalsetter Avenue in the city's Drumchapel at around 1pm today (Monday, October 13). The injured man was rushed to hospital and a police cordon was put in place.

Images from the scene show several police vehicles at the scene as detectives launch a probe, the Daily Record reports .

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1pm police received a report of car deliberately striking a male pedestrian in Dalsetter Avenue, Drumchapel, Glasgow.

"The injured pedestrian has been taken to hospital by ambulance. Enquiries are ongoing."
