ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A crash in Escambia County Sunday night left a man dead and three others injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to an FHP crash report, the crash happened on U.S. Highway 29 near Woodbury Circle around 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 12.
Officials said that a car was heading southbound on US Highway 29 "at a high rate of speed" when it crossed the median and crashed into an SUV heading northbound.
The 28-year-old woman driving the car was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition, while the 30-year-old man, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The 72-year-old man driving the SUV and his 70-year-old woman passenger were both taken to Sacred Heart Hospital and are listed in serious condition.
