HANCOCK, Maine — An Ellsworth woman is facing charges for her apparent role in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in the town of Hancock.

Safety officials responded to the scene of the crash that shut down a section of the Washington Junction Road shortly before 9 a.m.

Early investigation suggests that a Kia took a left turn from Poplar Road onto Washington Junction Road and crashed into a jeep traveling on Washington Junction Road toward Ellsworth, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release.

The driver of the Kia, 35-year-old Katrina Springer of Ellsworth, was injured in the crash and was brought to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the release.
