SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Police Department’s Special Response Team recently completed a week-long advanced SWAT training course at the Tactical Energetic Entry Systems facility in Mississippi.

The training is part of the department’s ongoing effort to ensure officers remain prepared for high-risk incidents, including hostage rescues, school shootings and mass casualty events.

Throughout the intensive program, SPD's officers were challenged mentally and physically, refining tactical skills and teamwork in real-world simulations, police said.

The training culminated in a series of practical exercises testing the skills learned throughout the week.
