WESTLAKE, Ohio -- After years of struggling to regain momentum lost during the pandemic, the Westshore Young Leaders Network (WYLN) is experiencing a resurgence, with recent training sessions drawing the largest crowds since before COVID-19.

WYLN is a leadership program developed by the Westshore Enforcement Bureau (WEB) in August 2010 to promote alcohol- and other drug-free choices for middle and high school teens, according to Noreen Kyle, WEB’s school prevention and education specialist.

Over 130 students from six west-side suburbs -- Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake -- gathered at the Westlake Recreation Center Sept. 29 for the program’s Leadership Training Kick-off.
