HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - There’s a new addition at Meadowview Elementary School that will expand the boundaries of recess.
School staff and members of the community celebrated the opening of an inclusive playground Monday.
While the other eight elementary schools in the county have inclusive playground equipment, the Director of Special Education for Henry County Schools says this is the first fully adaptive playground in the district.
“This is so satisfying for me,” said Emily Taylor, Director of Special Education for Henry County Schools. “It’s so wonderful because it’s a step in the right direction, making sure our students with disabilities are included fully and celebrated.”
