The Boys star Jensen Ackles has described it as a "bummer" that his most recent Prime Video series has been cancelled.

Crime thriller Countdown launched in June, following LAPD officer Mark Meachum (portrayed by Jensen Ackles) who becomes part of a covert task force investigating a dubious murder.

He quickly uncovers a dark conspiracy which sees Mark and his colleagues doing whatever it takes to try and rescue millions of lives across the city.

The 13-episode series concluded in September and despite ending on a massive cliffhanger, it has now been confirmed that Countdown will not return for a second series.
