MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A woman and a teen boy were each cited for simple assault following a brawl outside a Hickory Hill convenience store, the Memphis Police Department said.

Around 10:15 Sunday evening, MPD said, officers were called to Hickory Hill for a fight that occurred outside a convenience store on Riverdale. Police said they spoke to a woman who said she'd dropped her 14-year-old son off at an event venue on Malco Way, then gotten back onto the interstate when her son called and told her he was being chased by people who were trying to attack him.
